Puddle Ducks TV 30’
Script 1: Kick, Kick, Kick
Vision
Dir: We follow the adventures of a baby at home and in his swim lesson. Our duck is always by his side offering words of encouragement. Sound
Dir: Our duck is the only MVO. All other voices are in the background.
We open on a baby lying on a changing mat in the bedroom. Duck talks to him and he starts kicking his legs.
Duck: OK, this one’s all in the legs, focus on the legs…and kick!
We cut to the baby sitting in bath seat in a paddling pool in the garden. Duck bobs around in the pool next to him as he kicks his legs.
Duck: Today, we are concentrating on leg kicking efficiency, engaging hip flexors and glute muscles to keep the leg mostly straight while kicking…too much…OK, we’ll go back to basics…kick!
We cut to a Puddle Ducks’ swim. The baby lies on his back being cradled by Mum and kicks his legs as duck sits on the side.
The camera moves to another duck looking nonplussed.
Duck: Kick, kick, kick! You’ve got this! Now why don’t we see if we can do some more…just for kicks.
(Hear the teacher saying ‘Kick, kick, kick’)
Duck: Just for kicks, nothing, nada.
Lesson carries on in the background.

Strapline: The perfect introDUCKtion to swimming
We cut back to the changing room – baby kicks the towel off the bench, and it lands on the duck.
Duck: Kick, Kick…
(Muffled voice)
Hey, who turned out the lights?
Vicks says:
I originally created the strapline and TOV for this swim school. It obviously needs a fun, playful tone to appeal to parents of young kids and all the joy that goes with it. As a Mum myself, it was easy to slip into their mindset and create this glorious little set of light-hearted TV spots and socials. It helps that they already have an adorable brand mascot, Puddle the Duck, and that the client is always open to great ideas. Green Copy + Standby Productions + PD in-house design.
